MY LIFE IS BLESSED
I admit that I'm guilty of not always being thankful for the many blessings in my life..and I need to change. I have a wonderful husband, three wonderful healthy children, my parents are still with us and healthy..and yet..I tend to just take it for granted.
My husband, Ben, wakes up every day and thanks God that he has been given another day. I just assume I'm going to wake up in the morning and then when I do, I don't thank anyone for it. Can you tell it's weighing on my mind?

The Frogs Have Landed
Frogging...if you're not into cross stitching like I am that term will make nooooo sense..lol. Frogging is when you have to rip out stitches (i.e. rip it, rip it) and it is probably the one thing that all XSers hate to do. I have added colors, re-arranged letters (I've re-arranged entire rows!) just to avoid frogging. Not so lucky this past weekend, for every stitch I put in, I ended up frogging it right back out later. And I call this my hobby?

Stitching Update
I'm almost done with the "boat" part of the Noah's Ark afghan so I'm taking a little break and starting on HAED's You Make My Heart Melt. I'll post a pic. of the Ark soon.

Shaking the Family Tree
I finally got around to working on Ben's side of the family tree and I think I've created a monster..lol. Let me back up a little first. Not long after Ben and I were married two years ago he told me that family rumor had it that he was related to Pocahontas. Well, being told that you're related to someone famous is a common occurence in genealogy so I took it with a grain of salt.
So I decided to start my internet search for his family tree with his Dad, and went to my favorite gen. website (LDS) and typed my FIL's name in their search engine.....BAM.....not only did it have a hit, it was out of the ballpark!
A living, but distant, relative had already traced Ben's tree from my FIL all the way back to, you guessed it, Pocahontas! It's complete with documentation, etc. and I am in the process of sending for copies of my own. Upon hearing that his family rumor was actually true, my husband looks me square in the eye and in his best Hollywood actor voice says, "How!" (and I don't mean in the form of a question).
I'm almost afraid to shake my MILs side of the tree..lol.
